District Finder is a simple, responsive application and hosted service for locating which district or zone an address falls within. Many municipalities and service providers maintain service districts, zones, or other polygon boundaries, which define their service areas. District Finder aims to provide an easy solution for stakeholders who find themselves asking "Which district am I in?", "Where do I go to vote?", or "What day will my recycling be collected?".
Simply provide your polygon boundary data in geojson, or topojson format, and have a working "finder" application up and running in minutes. Provide your users with the URL link or embed the application on your own website or blog.
District Finder is a responsive client-side web application, which can be accessed from any modern web browser, from a desktop computer to a tablet or smartphone. It is built on the Google Maps JavaScript API, the Turf spatial analysis library, and Materialize, a modern responsive front-end framework based on Material Design principles.
District Finder is designed with a single codebase for both desktop and mobile access with integrated user geolocation.
New instances can be rapidly deployed via simple configuration files, making development quick and painless.
District Finder is built on free and open source components and can be freely forked or modified for your own purposes.
